Hi, I'm Destiny. Some of you might know me from around tumblr; I run the BB fan blog dividediwillstand, and my personal blog is lovepullmedown-hateliftmeup. I'm 19, and just finished my first year of college. I live in Pennsylvania, I just moved here last year from Arizona, so I could go to college here. BB officially announced their reunion the day before my flight to move here, so that was pretty amazing. Being from Arizona, I didn't get the chance to see BB before their hiatus, as tours in that direction weren't really common. I've been fortunate to see them a couple times since moving here (I'm about 15 minutes from their home town of Wilkes-Barre), and their shows are arguably the best I've ever been to. I love all of the members to bits, and have been fortunate enough to meet them. If I had to pick a favorite, I'd say Keith. I've known BB since 2004 after hearing Natural Life, but was a casual fan until 2009 after hearing I Will Not Bow and Give Me A Sign. Give Me A Sign is my favorite song, and Dear Agony is my favorite album. I've been a huge fan ever since, and have been very involved in the fanbase in those years. I've met so many of my best friends through them. Other than BB, I'm generally just a big music, art, and science person. I'm a biology major. I love a lot of music anywhere in the range from indie to metal and in between. If you're really interested, my last.fm profile username is pearlcougar. My other favorite band is Anberlin, which - ironically - broke up right before BB got back together. I love to draw, traditionally with pencil and have recently been getting into digital art. I'll surely post some sooner or later. (Heh.) I'm really glad there's a new forum; I've missed the shallow bay site for years. I'd love to get to know any of you. (shallow bay)

Welcome to the forum. What a great introductory thread!
I love Anberlin too. Whose version of Enjoy the Silence do you prefer?

Thank you! Oh, that's a terribly difficult question. I've been debating that for years. I'd probably have to say BB's version... I heard it live on Anberlin's last tour though, that was phenomenal. That's probably my top cover that I want to see BB play live; my top was Time After Time, but I got to hear that in March.

Hey. I'm Kayla, or Kazlan as I'm known on forums. You also might know me from Tumblr - I created the Breaking Benjamin Confessions blog, and I run a fan blog with the url 'weburythesunlight'. I'm twenty-two, and I live in Australia. Other that spending all of my time on Tumblr, I play video games, guitar and piano, and I write music, poetry, and stories. I'm studying to work in the community services sector (probably going to be a support worker or a teacher's aide, or something), but my dream job has always been just being an author. My favourite bands (excluding Breaking Benjamin) are Evanescence and Flyleaf, and have been since 2007. I'm not fourteen anymore, though, so my tastes have broadened. Lately, I've been listening to Taylor Swift's latest album, and some of my more recent favourite artists are Marina and The Diamonds and Lana Del Rey. I love lots of different kinds of music, though, especially the kind that makes me feel nostalgic, so 90s and early 2000s mainstream rock is fantastic. The only music I really haven't gotten a feel for is music with a country influence, and music with roots in hip hop, though I can still appreciate both (Nicki Minaj raps like a beast). BB doesn't get any radio play here, as far as I've heard. The first song I ever heard was 'Firefly' when a guy was playing the song in class. I remember thinking it sounded a bit like Nickelback (I know, I know), and I liked it, so I downloaded a couple of songs during lunch to take home with me because we didn't have the internet. It was the Easter holiday, then, and I spent the whole week jamming out to Phase, Breath and The Diary of Jane, and I fell in love. They've been my favourite band ever since. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose, my favourite BB song would most likely be 'Evil Angel', though I love them all. My favourite album is probably Phobia, but I have a special love for each of them. 'Skin' is the only Breaking Benjamin song I can play fully on guitar, though I can play a simplified So Cold pretty well, as well as just playing the chords to other songs. I've never seen BB live, and I'll probably never get the chance, so I love bootlegs. I was working my way through The Shallow Bay's database of them when the site went down, and I still regret that I never got them all. I used to go through the archives of TSB, and I found 30 second snippets of songs from one of Ben's high school bands, Epoch, and I listened to them for years before the full songs were uploaded on YouTube. haha. As for my opinions on band politics, I side with Ben in the Blow Me Away dilemma, but I do miss Aaron and Mark. I also really miss Chad, and wish that I'd been able to be at a show while he was in the band, if only for the ten minutes he spends messing with the crowd afterwards. Lol. I'm really keen on all of the new members, though. Everyone seems really happy to be in the band, and they all get along so well, and that camaraderie was something that Breaking Benjamin was sorely missing during the Dear Agony era. I'm super excited for Dark Before Dawn, and I'm really happy that someone made another fan forum to replace TSB. I hope that it takes off. Fan forums are great places to be. I'm a member of EvThreads, and I love it there. I hope this place becomes active and bustling, because I'd love to love it here too.

Hi folks! I'm Rob, twenty-something from England (I've lost count already ). Some people may know me from Twitter etc. as I use the same username everywhere. I'm a big music fan and love writing and playing music, too. I work as a professional geophysicist (probably sounds more exciting than it usually is ) and love almost anything relating to history and past cultures. I'm not actually sure when I started getting into BB, but it won't have been as long ago as most of you. A very good friend of mine introduced me to them and I got blown away (very subtle reference... okay never mind ) right off the bat. If I were to pick a favourite song by them, I think it would have to be a three way tie between Sooner Or Later, Away and Breath, but they're all changing most of the time. Angels Fall is quickly becoming a favourite too... I like a whole range of different styles/genres of music, but I think classical/orchestral music, metal and alt. metal/post-hardcore are probably where most of my favourite artists are coming from at the moment. In terms of bands similar in style to BB, I love Anberlin (especially New Surrender era), Parabelle, Evans Blue (first two albums) and Tool. I'm also sommmmmewhat of a diehard Evanescence fan and also a member of Evthreads. Pleasure to meet ya all! ///Shallow Bay (:

I'm a big science person too, and have been enjoying history more and more in my recent years. Breath and Away are two of my favorites, and Sooner Or Later holds a special spot from my early Benhead days. Away is one of the most underrated songs in their discography, in my opinion. And nothing wrong at all about being a fan a little less long than some people. I find it kind of bothersome when people act like they've been a fan for their entire career when they only really paid attention to them a couple years ago... That's my pet peeve, sorry.
We have such similar music taste. BB, Anberlin, and Parabelle are my three favorite bands. And New Surrender era is so underrated and gets way too much flack. It's one of my favorite albums.
